Teaching Skills (Technical Sessions)

A practice session focusing on teaching players a technical skill generally follows this progession:

  1) A fundamental stage
There's no pressure from an opponent
Players should move from slow speed to top speed
Players don't need to use full power
Players should concentrate on form and execution

  2) Match related stage (there are usually 2 of these)
Introduce pressure from an opponent - start with the opponent as a shadow,
then incrementally increase pressure to finally having full pressure.
Pressure can also come from time and size of playing area.

  3) Match conditions
There should be no restrictions or conditions.
This can be a small-sided game (e.g. 3v3 or 4v4)
