A practice session focusing on teaching players a technical skill generally follows this progession: | ||
1) A fundamental stage | ||
There's no pressure from an opponent Players should move from slow speed to top speed Players don't need to use full power Players should concentrate on form and execution |

2) Match related stage (there are usually 2 of these) | ||
Introduce pressure from an opponent - start with the opponent as a shadow,
then incrementally increase pressure to finally having full pressure. Pressure can also come from time and size of playing area. |

3) Match conditions | ||
There should be no restrictions or conditions. This can be a small-sided game (e.g. 3v3 or 4v4) Play to goals |
